Actually, many of the new computers already don't have floppies in them, but i do think they'll be around awhile, but eventually will use only memory sticks in their place

i still use mine for raid f6 installs, and the occational bios flash,
but as tc1 mentioned, usb drives and more os driver integration
(super drivers :P ) will kinda' edge the fdd to extinction :)

They ARE getting cheaper...got my 128 mb one for $15.

flash drives have definetly replaced them, computers don't even come with floppys, i mean what the hell will fit on 1.44 mb? might as well use a flash drive

You can do that with CD's :P

I SlipStream my Raid Drivers
and
I have a CDRW i customise if i ever need to do a BIOS Flash out of Windows.
