we see many pros and cons. price vs quality/bragging rights, special applications, etc. as major box makers get "the stuff" cheaper (f'in apple, and intel xeons, for example), why do you go self build, and when would you recommend a store bought over a self designed boxen? here is an example of big beige box gone wrong:

this, to me, is a call to venture out and 'google the s*it' (re parts/compatibilty) for the newcomer/buisness/reliability/value per pricepoint.
