Studies show that computer keyboards have more bacteria than toilet seats. But it's hard to clean all those keys. So some people advocate an extreme solution: Throw your keyboard in your dishwasher.

At first glance, this seems insane. But the computer-keyboard-in-the-dishwasher advice is all over the Internet. And don't we wish it were true?

Nell Boyce tests a Seal Shield computer keyboard under water. Brad Whitchurch of Seal Shield claims their keyboards work when wet; he connected a computer to a keyboard submerged 9 feet underwater to prove it.

Gee, all the water. Water, water everywhere. All I do to clean my keyboard is turn it over and sort of pat the bottom like you would burp a baby. I have noticed since I quit smoking, the amount of crud that gets in between everything is greatly reduced. Ah, another reason to lay down the coffin nails...hee hee. :D

I unplug my keyboard, take out all the keys, hoover the pad (where the keys attach) and as I'm putting the keys back on, I clean them one by one. I only do this every two or three months for obvious reasons
