Alright, here's the issue. Our router box is programed to the same number as our computer. With this in mind we are unable to change the router settings from the computer. I'm locked out. And with being locked out comes an internet connection to only one computer. The wireless broadcasting is cloaked and we can't bloody change it! I don't know if I explained well enough or not, but if you understood please help. We've been working on this for a year, and my dad refuses to get help because he thinks he can do it himself. (what a fruit) LOL! Alrighty, thanks.

If its the IP why not right click the network connection and click properties, then manually change the ip on the computer to something else....

I'm talking about the wireless connection for internet access for the laptops. And other wired connections for the other desktop. We're locked out of the box. And it's not the IP address, it's the channel number that we're trying to change. Nothings bloody working! AH!

what brand of router are you using? also did you try resetting the router? sometimes they don't allow access ( i dunno they hate you or something or want you to leave em alone :shrugs:)but normally if you reset it (NOT power cycle it) it will typically allow you to edit the settings and try to re-set it up. But keep in mind to configure a router you need to be WIRED, it cannot be done wireless.

If your dad would let me come over and fix it, I would, but he won't let me. IF you reset the router it should go back to defaults and you can log into the router using the log-in name and password that was provided by default. When I was looking at it, I believe the log in was on the bottom for the defaults.
