So, I was playing around with ATTO just to see what the deal was.
This is the screen shot:
untitled.JPG 59.07K 19 downloads
Is that a good score for a 4 drive RAID 0?
I've never used ATTO before ...

That's just the on board nVidia controller.
... and 64 bit Vista.

So, I guess the question is, at what point is there benefit to speed on the HD?
My theory was that games would load faster and run a little smother.
I have the virtual mem tied to the faster drive ... and have a 2 Gb USB running ReadyBoost.
But does the OS see much difference from anything over ~ 100 MPS?
................................................................................
.......200 MPS?
And on the flip side ... I set up those 4 Seagate drives for under $200.
Is there a reasonable dollar to MPS sort of ratio?
PS. 2MO I'm not sure what the #'s are saying, but they do look

if you have to move a bunch of gianormous files around, a funky data base, or need to handle a ton of I/Os, yeah, you would notice the need for speed. but for rummaging around in the OS or the like, i kinda don't think you'd notice anything from 90 on...
ah, the scsi score...they are set up for high I/O traffic (write back and NCQ are enabled, along with other stuff i forgot), so the bench results look like a crazy salad...
