images/news/windows.jpgMicrosoft is done with Windows Server 2008 and released it to manufacturing, as of February 4. Ditto with Windows Vista Service Pack (SP) 1.

Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer announced the RTM (release to manufacturing) milestones for both Windows Server 2008 and Vista SP1 during his annual Strategic Update for Wall Street on February 4 shortly thereafter.

Today at 5 a.m. PST on the company’s Redmond campus, Microsoft’s Windows Server 2008 held its sign-off party.

No it's not...

But basically R2 is practically bug free already.. RTM has only few improvements (relatively) over it :g:

R2 is the rtm build they arent telling anymore because the want to test the deployment through Windows Update.

For those hunting for the Windows Vista SP1 rtm, if you got your hands on Microsoft Windows Vista Service Pack 1 Release Candidate Refresh 2, you have the RTM bits!!!

Microsoft released this refresh build end of January though Windows Update only to selected testers, but clever people can get the downloaded SP package from the Windows Update download cache and they have the stand alone package of SP1 RTM

Yup Dave :roadrunner:

Works and R2 was and is SP1 anyway :scara: There are no surprises and nothing changed, but your best off feeling the 'little' benefits from a fresh install of Vista.

I really feel sorry for the peeps who have bought this.........lol :likewinmandr2: .....way to go MS!!
