Gottfrid “Anakata” and Peter “Brokep” from the Pirate Bay took place in Computer Swedens “hot seat” this week, where the readers asked them questions (Swedish) about their income, copyright infringement, Sealand and more. We translated the interview for all The Pirate Bay fans outside Sweden.

I'm glad they got some hard hitting questions. It's just too bad they didn't answer any of them. They're obviously making tons of money.

And that island thing is a scam. I've been reading the forums at buysealand.com and it's just comical how clueless all those people are. For one, they're not going to raise $20,000,000. If they did somehow manage to obtain that, there's the problem of nearby nations and they're armies and navies. And supposing they get past all that, they still need to be entirely self-sufficient. And then there's that small problem of not having any females on the island... :)

While I agree with you brew, they never did claim to be non-profit.....did they?
The meat of the matter is they are keeping this idea, of the rights of individuals.........even the one's without money....... alive.
I wont be sending them my checks but if they can keep the site open then I feel more power to them.

I've used TPB, but I don't call myself a revolutionary. I'm cheap and it's easy. The true revolutionaries (at least in the context of free software) are the people writing open source software. Just my opinion...

Yeah, on the other hand it seemed like they had another agenda. If they knew their finances or not - that went nowhere. They blew the chance to find out some interesting stuff. Kind of a waste if you ask me.

also, have you ever wondered what a silly idea that was? If the MPAA or RIAA decided to swoop down in a helicopter and blow the place to bits, what type of security would they have? Now lets question the cable line to the concrete piller island. i bet the lines would be cut everyday

All i see is rats on a raft in the middle of the ocean :)

Well, the Buy Sealand project is now officially dead in the water, so to speak. But I'm sure that $20,000 of donations will still go to something that will benefit humanity. :)

Though Project Sealand is belly up, the spirit of Freedom is still and alive and well. A breakout-group has formed The FreeNation Foundation and intends to buy an island to create a new nation.

I'd honestly be interested in this project if it weren't just a bunch of 15 year old gamers.
