"You're ripping us off!", Steve Jobs shouted, raising his voice even higher. "I trusted you, and now you're stealing from us!"

But Bill Gates just stood there coolly, looking Steve directly in the eye, before starting to speak in his squeaky voice.

"Well, Steve, I think there's more than one way of looking at it. I think it's more like we both had this rich neighbor named Xerox and I broke into his house to steal the TV set and found out that you had already stolen it."

(Steve Jobs accused Bill Gates of stealing the Apple GUI for Windows 1.0, this was the conversation that took place :))

Basically Bill and Steve came face to face, now Xerox had started an OS but it flopped.

Despite that it still contained some GOOD ideas including a GRAPHICAL INTERFACE for a user to see and interact with....Apple took that idea and made the whole thing from that IDEA not completely copying it just basing off that.

Apple and MS had an agreement, MS would not borrow the Apple GUI. So MS didn't they borrowed the Xerox idea instead...

AHHH I get ya. Apple should have been more specific... it's business, if you don't say NO YOU CAN'T DO THAT before it happens, it's done for. Just like when I ask my mom, Can I leave at 10? she says no, so I dont' leave at 10, I leave at 11 instead :)

Bill Gates is a smart man, I hate when people knock him and all that bullshit. He is worth 51 billion dollars, i can't even imagine spending all of that, it would take at least a year :P
go look up his biography, hes always been a genius, going to a top school in seatle and all his other accomplishments.
"Trey" is a genius!

There is one difference between Apple basing the MAC OS off of Xerox PARC's work and what M$ did in creating Windows. The Xerox project never went commercial, and Apple actually purchased the rights to their implementation, combining it and elements of their OS for the Lisa Computer to create System 1 (the original Mac OS). At least three employees of PARC moved to Apple when they were developing the MAC and System 1.

Microsoft took advantage of Apple's trust. Shortly before the original MAC hit the market, Apple delivered two Macs to Microsoft so they could beging to develop apps for it. Microsoft basically reverse-engineered the OS and took what they learned to create Windows. This was before crap legislation like the DCMA was enacted, so there was a lot more wiggle room for Microsoft, which is why Apple lost their suit against M$.

So? Microsoft is a f***load better than Apple could ever be... No I'm not exactly biast... I have yet to find an Appl computer that has the functuality and usablilty I desire... I rarely find a Linux box of the same... I chose to stick with microsoft because I enjoy using it, appls a pain in the ass and frankly I'm glad Bill did "rip them off"

Thank you Bill for doing so, in doing so he has ADVANCED the computer and the uses of computers.
