upside
* a gain of hard drive space
* increase of LAN speed
* increase of WAN speed
*increase of computer speed

downside
* Decrease of speed in search function on Local and Network computers

no hdd space increase here i'm afraid, even after deleting the "prefetch" folder contense...i haven't gone to safe mode, and taken rights of the c drive though. will this make the difference?

I had a whopping 1.5GIG increase on a 4 computer network here at home

Keep in mind, im running 3 WD 250GIG hdds on one system, a 250WD and 200 Maxtor on the local plus smaller HDD on the lappy and server
