Recently in news all over the web we've seen the death of lots of File-sharing companies, File-sharing group Grokster has agreed to halt distributing its software to settle a long-running copyright case launched by the entertainment industry.
Under the deal, Grokster is permanently banned from taking part in the spread of copyrighted music and movie files.
This is the lifeline of most File-sharing networks.
Will File-sharing as WE know it end?

I don't think we will EVER see an end to file sharing, people are creative, and copyright infringment is part of life... suck it up, get over it. I understand you're loosing money but in the end you benefit. I know if I d/l a cd, like I did a FATA, From Autumn To Ashes, I liked them so I went out, bought the original and the NEW cd they came out with... they benefited from my d/l because I liked it... if I hated it, I would have deleted it and that'd be the end of it. If it was never shared they never would have gotten my money. I know ALL people aren't like me and don't buy the CD that they just got for free, but some people are and one day people will realise when they start a business, "HEY, that guy's stealing from me, but I did it as a kid too

Actually i do know that music companies LEAK SONGS on the internet on purpose, not always its best track, but something that would appeal and make people wonder about the rest of the album.

Not me... I hear ONE song on the radio, I bought a cd and the rest SUCKED, so from now on... if I don't get to sample almost the entire album, I don't buy.

No, file sharing is the future....i once posted a news article about bittorrent being the next http, and it's very true. A bigger demand for a faster generation.

Even so red, there's always going to be a demand for a faster generation, you technically can never satisfy someone, from using a cable connection, I moved to ADSL as it is STILL faster than 56k I crave more... even on the cable, I craved more, I want to shave those 30 min d/ls down to 3 min and those 2+ hour d/ls need to be somewhere around 30-45 min... see what I mean. If I do happen to achieve that, I'm going to want gb/s even. Can't be satisfied

except that costs nearly 200 a month! It's kind of wierd that 15 mbps is so much cheaper than the 30 mbps they are offering!
