I prefer WIRED, i am not using a laptop of course so my opinion is biased to some, but i like the ALWAYS ON, easy to setup and 100% secure connection i have, which is always at full speed, 100mbs not 50 one minute then 10...then 40...

If i could have it i would choose wireless...mainly because i'm on a laptop. I agree, there are inconsistencies but my router is extended range.
