Okay I'm not sure if this is the right spot for it but...

I installed a second hard drive so I can put on Vista but my bootmgr file on my xp hd got messed up? So I ran the xp cd to repair it and it worked but when I went to open IE I got an error ("The procedure entry point InternetGetSecurityInfoByURLW could not be located in the dynamic link library WININET.dll."). I tried to reinstall ie 6 sp1 but it siad I have a newer version so I opened the installer for ie 7 but it siad I have it already and it told me to uninstall it by going to the add/remove programs in the control panel and click the updates so I do but all I see is media player 10 and media format runtime. Plus the last time I cheacked you can not remove IE from the system lol.

I am running XP SP2 Home.

strange... installing vista on a seperate physical disk sholdn't affect the other at all. Maybe you messed up the installation?

In any case, try repairing again, or copying your files over tho the second disk, formatting and reinstalling (oh, and its worth remembering this - as a Windows user, you'll probably do this a few times).

Well I know I should have said this but I just copyed and pasted t from another forum post I did :) Okay so this is what happend... insted of putting Vista on like I did I put Ubuntu on and I put IE beta 7 on my XP and thats what's messed up but the good thing was I had firefox on my XP before all that (I just use IE for windows update's and some web site's ie. mine so I can cross exame it :P) and I also had Opra on it so it really dosen't matter and when SP 3 comes out I will format it anyway since out of the 80GB thats on there I only have 6GB left lol
