Microsoft has launched another of its new Windows “Laptop Hunters” ads this weekend. While bloggers and journalists are spending lots of cycles dissecting everything from what the salesclerks are wearing to whether or not the “star” is an actor, the one thing I can’t help but notice is how crazy the new commercials are making many in the Apple community.

The new ad, featuring “Giampaolo,” admits Macs are “soo sexy,” but are more about branding than speeds and feeds.

The price/value/choice message Microsoft has finally surfaced in these new commercials is one it should have been trumpting for years. It took Microsoft $300 million and lots of false starts to get it right. But now that the Softies have found a winner, they should stick with the theme.

I agree with you, Dave.

But while computer savvy people will usually go with PC's, most don't know what to look for in a laptop.
How many of us have our friends and relatives ask our advice when they buy a laptop?
That show that unless you really know what to shop for you're at the mercy of the ads and salesmen at the store and on-line.
I think that if you send 10 women into a store to buy a computer 9 of them will buy a MAC, not for what it does but for how easy it is and how it looks, especially what color the case is.
