I am an AMD loyalist and will remain so. But I have felt the same way concerning ATI. There are not too many "brands" that I identify with or even care about but ATI was one of them. I personally feel a sense of loss with killing of the ATI name. In the long run it may not make any difference but it does to me. AMD, in this I think you lost more that you gained...talker.

The graphics cards will still be branded ATI. Everything else (chipsets, stream processor, etc.) will be renamed AMD.
Personally, I don't see a problem with getting rid of the ATI name altogether. There are rumors that AMD might eventually spin off or sell the graphics business along with the name ATI, but I don't see that happening.

Cool!!! Now I don't feel so bad getting a ATI card now since the money goes to AMD which I love!!

They would make more money continuing to support Intel chipsets. Why settle for only one side of the coin? If AMD graphics don't work with Intel chipsets, they lose $$$$$. That's the bottom line.

They will still work, just no crossfire.

If I had the dough right now I'd get it. Besides being hot it looks good enough to wear on the outside of my rig
