If you are tweaking voltages how do you gauge your safe threshold. Is there rule of the thumb temp you don't exceed as with cpus? If any of you have an x19xx series card, I'd like to know what voltages you have gone up to.

I was just wondering what most members here usually do when OCing your Vid cards. Do you personally just take the clock settings as far as possible on stock voltage or do you tweak your core and memory voltages as well?

i just overclock my card up a bit, from 450mhz/1.05ghz to say 475mhz/1.1ghz without increasing voltage
you void your warranty, and by doing that greatly reduce the resell value of your videocard

Well, my 7900gt has a volt mod available for it. This consisted of using a circuit writing pen to draw a ciruit from one pin on the board to another which selected higher voltages. All in all, I took my time and it turned out to be very easy! And you can always remove the circuit writing material with some alcohol which is nice. My stock card was at 520 core, and like 1500 memory. However, with the volt mod I can easily run mine at 650 core, and 1800 memory!!! Right now my temps are sitting at 40 degree's celcius. I DO NOT do this on stock cooling though!! I added a Zalman vf900 which helps to keep it nice and cool! Overall, I have never had a problem with my card and am glad I did this mod!! I get close to the performance of a 7900gto with this beast!!
