Intels new logo is now out there in shops e.t.c But do you think this makeover alone will help their position?

They will be releasing a Quad Core CPU in 2007, it has demonstrated its first working quad core sample microprocessors for servers a mere two years after the introduction of the first dual core processors. The chip, codenamed Clovertown, features a new micro-architecture that will likely be detailed at the Intel Developer Forum (IDF) this spring.

AMD do have the advantage right now, so keep an eye out.

I met the local Intel rep a few weeks ago, and he was trying to convince us that the Intel Core Duo was the first processor inhistory that allowed you to play games on a notebook, as well as the first to let you enjoy a "aultimedia experience" on a notebook. I have an Athlon64 notebook w/ an ATI MR9600 on it, so I was laughing at him as he said that. I think Intel's field reps are in denial about AMD (and in some cases refuse to even acknowledge AMD's existence as a competitor in the PC marketplace).

lol. Well it used to be the other way around, so i suppose they aren't chuffed. AMD was once the CHEAP option, now they are the Best & Cheap Option!
