I was searching a long time for a good VPN solution and after many trial & errors I finaly found an easy and good solution.

Needed:

- Hamachi P2P VPN App

How to use:

1. Install Hamachi on all the computers using the VPN.

(IMG:http://www.hamachi.cc/img/thumb-1.png)

2. Make a username (choose something you like). This is very easy to do. When you start Hamachi for the first time you get a dialog after a few pushes on the next button you get a dialog to create a username. After you have done this you get a Hamachi IP.

Now you are ready to either join or create a network.

Creating a network:

1. Go to the 3rd button from the left.
2. Click on it en select create network
3. Give in a Network name and password. You must now that when the network is created and you have joined it that everyone with Hamachi and the password of your network can join it. So if you dont want strangers in there make sure you pick a very difficult to guess password!
4. Now you have your own network.

Joining a network:

1. Go to the 3rd button from the left.
2. Click on it en select join network
3. Give in the correct name and password (it is case sensitive)

Now you have joined the network. Go to my network places and try to reach the other Computers. You can do that by name or Hamachi adress. The computer on your VPN within your own workgroup will apear in the workgroup window in my networkplaces.
This is a very easy solution for a VPN. I must say it took me a lot of time to find a solution for my VPN problems in the past. I tried the most complex software and then I suddenly found this app. It really saved my day :P

Note: If you are behind a firewall or router you should either forward the ports (you can select a default UDP port in the preferences window) or make yourself default server. Then this should work perfectly. Else you could find yourself in some trouble.
