My mums pc is a Intel, but she likes Intels for some reason, she says she likes the little blue alien mascot -.-

Likes that is a good reason to prefer Intel over AMD sigh, yes i do argue Intel vs AMD with my mum, but on her level its totally unlike any normal argument.

Well I went with a Dell so I have a P4 :( but anyway I got it about a year ago and did one upgrade... well two but no one know's about the other one lol. So total I would say $900? I have a P4 3.00GHz with HT, 17 inch flat panel (it was free if I got the $48 CRT lol), ATI Radeon X300 SE PCI-Express 128MB video card, 512 MB of PC-3200 DDR(2)? RAM, intergraded 5.1 sound with my custom 7.2 sound system (I have a 5.1 and a 2.1 linked up to a spliter to the card :P) 8 USB's 6 back 2 front, intergraded 10/100 ethernet, wireless USB adapter from Linksys (802.11 B), 56K modem (I never used it), Compaq mulitimedia keybord, Compaq "optical mouse with glowing wheel", DVD player, DVD burnner (16x +- R/RW 8x +- R/RW DL) $48 off the internet :), 80GB HDD, 15GB HDD <- this is the one where no one know's about :) it has linux on it right now, on the 80 I have Windowx XP Home with SP2, no floppy, and I think that it

I just got my desktop a few weeks ago....didn't cost me anything. I traded my laptop for it, which was free from my fiance ("If you can fix it, you can have the damn thing!") It's been tweaked a little bit, and it's still a junk system, but it works for now....

Specs:
AMD Athlon 1.1GHz
512Mb RAM (Not sure on speed)
20Gb hard drive (Server 2k3)
19" CRT
crappy ATi 32Mb video card (works better than the 16Mb Nvidia that came with it, so......meh.)

And yes.....the whole system matches......and sorry guys, but it's even worse than a Dell...it's Gateway. I ditched a laptop with wireless and a 1.5GHz processor for this....but it WAS a Dell......so it was a slow, almost burned out Celeron. Worth the trade, IMHO.
