images/news/amd.jpgAMD managed to keep the R680 board under wraps for longer than we expected but there's no stopping people with a 'thing' for new hardware so now, just one day before the official release of the Radeon HD 3870 X2 we can see it put to the test. The card put to fight off a stock GeForce 8800 Ultra by the guys @ PConline.com.cn is the standard 3870 X2, with two RV670 chips clocked at 825 MHz (320 Stream processors per GPU), 1GB of GDDR3 memory at 1800 MHz, a 256-bit memory bus and one PCIe bridge that makes CrossFire happen on one PCB.
