images/news/gaming.jpgHere we go again!! <_<

ETQW will feature appropriate advertisements in select locations of our levels. The ads aren't intrusive and you won't have to interact with them; they'll just be part of the normal environment. In fact, there are some places it's quite odd not to have an advertisement - the sides of container trucks, for example. Great care is being taken to ensure that all our ads are appropriate for the game world and we have absolute approval rights in this area. If it's not appropriate or it's distracting, it won't go in.

Hopefully someone will figure out which servers are behind the ads so they can be blocked from the hosts file. A boycott might help too.

I don't care about the ads on places like the sides of trucks like the example they give. It kind of adds to the realism. But if it made he game free or cheaper, that would be useful and pretty cool! But we al know that will never happen...

If the ad is on the side of a truck or a billboard, there would be no need for remote servers, as that ad would be stationary, an be built into the game, like the truck is.

Unless they want to be able to change the ads. Which they probably will. That way they can keep selling ad space even after the game is released.

Mmmmh, hadn't thought about that... It's probably the plan, and it's a good one.

If ads work in one game soon all games are gonna have them, because of this I'm boycotting the game
